I have been a professional photographer for over 35 years, specializing in photojournalism and sports. My camera has literally taken me around the world. Presidents and celebrities have appeared in front of my camera lens. I photographed the US Opens in tennis and golf, Formula 1 racing (my favorite) and for the past 17 years I’ve been I’m freelancing for a local newspaper.

Photographers paint with light and the quality of the light is a crucial element for any artist. The expression “Quality-of-Light” is a phrase I use to describe the direction and luminous quality of the light illuminating a scene or subject. The low angle of the sun, for instance, produces long shadows and warm colors that reveal the depth and texture of a scene. Using light correctly is what sets the mood and helps create an air of mystery.

In my travels I enjoy experiencing foreign countries but also I like visiting our National Parks where I derive great inspiration from nature’s enduring beauty.
I always have a camera in hand in order to record those fleeting moments that only nature can provide.
